NLJ Billing Survey Published in The National Law Journal in December 2005, the Billing Survey includes information about high/low/average billings rates for partners/associates/firms for over 100 of the largest firms nationwide, as well as information about the firms’ alternative billings policies and methodologies. Also available through the ALM Research Store is information for Billings By Associate Class, researched and published for the same time period. Archived billings information in the ALM Research Online database goes back to 1989.

Corporate Representation At the end of every year, ALM Research Online compiles the information about law firms and their clients that has been researched and reported in ALM's many publications, e.g. Corporate Counsel's "Who Represents Corporate America." In that survey, general counsel at the top 250 Fortune companies are asked to name their "go-to" firms for transactions and litigation, labor and employment, IP work, and other practice areas.

In addition, most of ALM's regional newspapers, as well as the key national publications, the National Law Journal and the magazines, publish regular columns detailing the largest deals, suits, and noteworthy transactions in the industry. Information about "who counsels who" for almost 5,000 representations in 2005 is now available through ALM Research Online.

The Global 100 Every year since 1998, The American Lawyer has published their "Global 100" report which ranks the largest firms in the world based on one of two factors, By Revenue and/or By Size (number of lawyers). Firms that make the cut for either or both lists are then ranked on a third list, Profits Per Equity Partner. The spreadsheet currently available from this survey report includes: gross revenue and rank, number of attorneys and rank, profits per equity partner and rank, as well as revenue per lawyer, number of countries in which the firm has offices, the percent of lawyers at the firm who work outside the home country, and key marketing contact.
